Many manufacturers will have arrangements with daily rental companies to sell them vehicles for limited mileage use with a pre-agreed ‘buy-back’ value at the end of the term. These vehicles therefore need to be collected and then re-distributed back into the market in an organised manner. This is important as a large number of similar model and mileage vehicles arriving onto the market at the same time can have a detrimental effect on their residual values.


End-of-life vehicle inspections are undertaken by fully-trained inspectors who identify any damage and are qualified to suggest suitable, cost-effective repair methods. Once an agreement has been reached with the rental company, the vehicle is then transported to one of the refurbishment centres for rectification work to be undertaken prior to remarketing.

Reconditioning can range from full valets to SMART (small medium automotive repair techniques) repairs being carried out avoiding whole body panels being unnecessarily re-sprayed. The most common repairs are: scuffs and scratches to corner bumpers, car park dents, stone chips and scratches to paintwork, alloy wheel refurbishment and interior trim panels.
